Visiting Moab, Southeastern & Central Utah

Central Utah, with its breathtaking an unique scenery, is a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts – and this spring, there’s more fun than ever.

Near Fillmore, animal lovers gather to witness the snow geese making their annual migration from Mexico back to Canada. The 2015 Delta Snow Goose Festival is a collection of fun in the name of the avian phenomenon – events include 5K and 10K runs, a quilt show, quality cooking, and more.

To the southeast near Richfield, visitors and residents will be looking to the sky in the late spring – but this time to see an array of hot air balloons. The 2015 Eyes to the Sky Balloon Festival is a visual buffet, with dozens of balloons coloring the sky each morning at dawn and a full weekend of activities, June 19th through 21st. Get to Mason Farms early to make sure you don’t miss a chance to help launch a balloon yourself.

Head further south to reach Beaver, where skiers will find ideal conditions through much of the spring. Beaver’s Eagle Point Ski Resort features over 600 skiable acres and 40 named runs.

Moab is well known as an athlete’s nirvana, and this spring won’t be any different. The 2015 Skinny Tire Festival is March 7th through 10th, drawing cyclists from all over the country. The first Skinny Tire event of the year, the four-day road tour takes riders along a scenic course alongside the Colorado River through Arches National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park.

Then, on Saturday, May 9th, Moab sees fitness fanatics flock to the 2015 Red Rock Relay Moab. Teams of six run relay-style through 63 miles of the red rock and alpine surroundings of Moab, starting before sunrise and finishing before sunset.

Stick around to relax at the 23rd Annual Moab Art Festival & Wine & Beer Festival on May 23rd and 24th. Held in gorgeous Swanny City Park, the festival invites art lovers to view an eclectic mix of works across multiple media while sampling locally brewed beverages and listening to live music. There are even special art activities for kids.
