Visiting Moab, Southeastern & Central Utah

Central Utah. Spend your day rock hounding and exploring the deserted mining towns of Eureka, Silver City and Mammoth. Or escape the summer heat and fish for mountain trout in the lush, stream-laced forests of Blue Lake, Daniels Creek and the Gunnison Reservoir. A trip to the small rural town of Beaver County offers quaint shops and historical landmarks. A significant gateway to local canyons and mountain ranges - Tushar Range to the east of Beaver County, and Puffer Lake situated in the mountains are popular destinations for fishermen and sports enthusiasts.

With over 7 Best Western properties in Central Utah, travelers can rest assure that comfort and convenience are on their side during a trip to the Beehive State.

Intrigued with Robert Leroy Parker are you? Better known as Butch Cassidy, the town of Beaver City celebrates his birth every year. The Butch Cassidy Festival is July 1st and 2nd on Main Street. Those in attendance can enjoy days filled with live local entertainment, pie eating and hog calling contests, and the Beaver Pioneer car show. While many come out to remember Cassidy, there are a handful who attend just to partake in a Beaver City delicacy - “Beaver Balls” (chocolate and peanut butter filled truffles). So come on out and celebrate the legacy of one of America’s most notorious bad boys.

Take a drive to American Canyon and visit the Timpanogos Cave National Monument in the Wasatch Mountains. High in American Fork Canyon sits the steep mountainside caves, which were formed 30 million years ago. A short hike of 1.5 miles will get you to the caves located 1,000 feet above the canyon floor. Clear underground pools and colorful limestone is what you’ll see. Guided tours are given and light jackets are suggested, as the temperatures inside the caves are about 45 degrees.

Celebrate the Fourth of July, Utah style. From parades and programs to fireworks and festivities, patriotism runs high and celebrations are aplenty in Central Utah on the 4th. “Stadium of Fire” in Provo is one of the largest festivals. A multi-day extravaganza with top notch entertainers, workshops and a huge fireworks finale - this freedom festival is by far the most impressive July 4th festival in Central Utah.
