Stay near Canyonlands
Guests at our BEST WESTERN PLUS Greenwell Inn often make plans to visit Canyonlands National Park, a breathtaking and naturally stunning place based off of U.S. Highway 191. The Island in the Sky Visitors Center is only 40 minutes away up U.S. 191 and Utah Route 313 while the Moab Information Center can be found a block north of our hotel lobby. Don't forget to check in with our staff, who routinely provide expert suggestions on what to do, where to go, and the best times to go, which include sunrise and sunset.
Canyonlands, located west of Moab, was formed thanks to the eroding of the Colorado and Green Rivers. Stretched over 330,000 acres, the seemingly endless amount of canyons, mesas, and buttes inspires visitors of all ages. Explore this colorful wonderland and unique desert atmosphere, filled with opportunities for sightseeing and adventure. The Green and Colorado Rivers separate Canyonlands into three land districts known as Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. While Island in the Sky is the closest to our hotel, the other districts are just as picture-worthy. There is also a separate district detached from the main park called Horseshoe Canyon. It's a longer drive, but guests often find the awaiting petroglyphs and preserved human history to be worth it.
Relax after an eventful day thanks to our comfortable rooms before recharging with our free breakfast and keeping yourself limber in our fitness center. When you stay in Moab, you're staying in a town that lives for the outdoors but is also full of shopping and dining opportunities. Check out outdoors sporting shops, enjoy a good lunch or dinner, or simply take a walk and breathe in fresh mountain air.
