Summer in Northern Utah and Salt Lake City brings of a wealth of traditions, including Pioneer Days and 4th of July celebrations – from Wendover, to Roosevelt and Vernal. North in Logan Summerfest Arts Faire launches the 2014 season's fun June 12th through 14th followed in July by the Cache Valley Cruise-In the 3rd through 5th. As towns across the Beehive State celebrate traditions, the City of Sandy, south of Salt Lake City, lights up all summer season as the MLS Real Salt Lake take the field. Home of Rio Tinto Stadium, Sandy hosts Real home field soccer games. This is the season to celebrate Utah's heritage, culture, and traditions.
Communities large and small across northern Utah love a good arts festival, and there are some great ones. On the large end of the scale, Salt Lake City Arts Festival is at the top. From June 26th through 29th, the 2014 UAF fills the grounds of downtown Salt Lake City's Washington Square and Library Square across 200 East. Tooele, 30 miles west of downtown Salt Lake, hosts the 2014 Toole Arts Festival June 20th through 22nd. A visit to the Park City Arts Festival is just in time to escape the city heat for a getaway to the cool mountain air of the Park City area. The 2014 Park City Arts Festival is August 1st through 3rd.
Springville, south of Provo and Orem in Utah County, kicks off the 2014 season with Springville Art City Days June 7th through 14th. A top event in Utah County, Art City Days features the Grand Parade, free concerts, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, and rodeo among the festivities. Art City events fill venues across the city, including Springville High School, Springville Art Museum, and Cherry Creek Elementary School.
Round Up Week in Lehi honors the Old West traditions of the Rodeo, stock parade, and BBQ the last week of June. Lehi's 2014 Round Up is June 21st through 29th, featuring Arts in the Park, and an evening family picnic at Wines Park, demonstrations and exhibits at Hutchings Museum, and a golf tournament at Fox Hollow Golf Club. For over 75 years, the Lehi Round-Up Rodeo has been a highlight of the week; the 2014 event fills Lehi's rodeo grounds June 26th through 28th.
In Midvale, a suburb of Salt Lake City south of downtown, the community rallies in August for the annual Harvest Days celebration. The 2014 festivities are August 11th through 16th, featuring the first Harvest Days Children's Parade, neighborhood block parties, and a 5k run. Known as the city in the middle of everything, Midvale celebrates its heritage and traditions at August's Harvest Days.
