Ski Areas in Southern Utah
Beaver & Cedar City Ski Resorts
Brian Head Ski Resort, Brian Head
Southern Utah may be better known for its hiking and mountain biking, but several ski areas make the lower half of the Beehive State proud.
One of the newer ski areas in Utah, Eagle Point Ski Area is an incredible winter escape just 20 miles from the city of Beaver. Set in the southwestern part of the state in the lower half of the Fishlake National Forest, Eagle Point hosts everything from unforgettable ski runs to restaurants, shopping and more snow sports than you can handle – but you should still try.
Eagle Point provides its guests with five lifts in the area – granting access to over 600 acres of skiable land. Try as many as you want of the 42 available runs, check out the terrain park, or zip down one of two tubing lanes at Eagle Point. Runs range from expert level to beginner, so bring the family or plan a trip with some friends – just make sure you’re at Eagle Point this winter.
Featuring a base elevation of 9,600 feet, Brian Head Ski Resort is Utah’s highest ski area. Established in 1964 and encompassing the Giant Steps and Navajo peaks near Cedar City, Brian Head yields 71 ski runs on 650 skiable acres.
Accessed by Interstate 15, the Brian Head ski season features night skiing, tubing, and the famous bag jump – plus three terrain parks and eight lifts. Boasting 360 inches of snowfall each year, Brian Head also features the Last Chair Saloon, and nearby Toadz Bar.
This winter, make your way to the Fishlake National Forest or Dixie National Forest for great skiing in lower Utah.
