When your southern Utah visit has you exploring Cedar City, you’ll find a wealth of premier, can’t-miss destinations. For an outdoor adventure, be sure to bundle up and head for the Cedar Breaks National Monument, one of the most stunning and picturesque locations in Utah. For those visiting Cedar City with their high school-aged family members, be sure to embark on a campus tour at Southern Utah University.
Plan your visit to the SUU campus for November 5th and check out their football team in action. The SUU Thunderbirds will face the Montana State Bobcats at the Eccles Coliseum starting at noon. If you feel so inclined to make the short drive north into Provo, the SUU Thunderbirds will face in-state rivals BYU the following weekend, November 12th, at 1 p.m. SUU fans travel in for games from nearby cities like Mount Carmel and Bryce Canyon City.
As you continue to explore further south in Utah, make plans for a fun stay in Kanab. Only minutes from the Colorado border, and found just along Highway 89, Kanab is home to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, and Little Hollywood Land. In December, Kanab will be hosting their annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Visit the BLM Kanab Field Office at the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument on December 16th for this premier birding event.
Out in the far southwest corner of Utah you can find the charming city of Saint George. Conveniently located along Interstate 15, Saint George is home to excellent attractions like Dixie State University and the Saint George Utah Temple. One of the premier event venues in the Saint George area is exceptional Tuacahn Amphitheatre. This winter, you’ll find a slew of top performances held at Tuacahn.
On November 3rd through 5th, you can see David Archuleta live on stage at Tuacahn, with each show starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available now starting at $39. On November 11th, CSN Songs, a tribute band playing the best of Crosby Stills Nash & Young – they take to the stage at 7:30 p.m.
