Travel across southern Utah for scenic fall vistas and enjoy the remaining 2013 days before Utah’s famous snow transforms the mountain slopes into a winter wonderland. Discover the spectacular formations of the Paunsaguant Plateau at Bryce Canyon National Park, located on its eastern slope. The 15 most popular viewpoints can be seen along a 37-mile drive through Bryce Canyon. The Utah Shakespeare Festival continues its 52nd season in Cedar City with performances through October. The Randall L. Jones Theatre hosts performances of Peter and the Starcatcher, Richard II, and the Marvelous Wonderettes through October 19th. Enjoy a fall visit to Cedar City to enjoy the changing colors of the Dixie National Forest and exceptional theater.

Moab’s beautiful fall weather is ideal for a run through the red rocks and high desert terrain. The 2013 Project Athena Moab Trail Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K Adventure Run is November 2nd. The Moab races are sanctioned by USA Track & Field and include the Trail Half Marathon National Championship. With the La Sal Mountains as a backdrop, the course takes runners through Behind the Rocks Wilderness, giving runners views of Pritchett, Hunter and Kane Creek Canyons, as well a glimpses into Canyonlands National Park.

Make a long-weekend in Moab November 1st through the 3rd to catch the marathon and the 11th Annual Moab Folk Festival. Musicians and songwriters check out the 2013 Moab Folk Camp October 27th through November 1st, featuring workshops and courses.

Brian Head Resort, 30 miles east of Cedar City via northbound Interstate 15, is an all seasons resort – however, peak season begins late fall as the slopes fill with snow.
