Where to start in Bryce Canyon National Park? Neighboring the Dixie National Forest in southern Utah, this national park is a collection of outdoor activity suited to meet the challenge of your vacation's itinerary.
Get that backpack together, because we’re hiking the Bryce Amphitheater. If you need something quick and easy, try the Mossy Cove Trail or Bristlecone Loop – perfect for family outings in the park. Both are a mile in length, with the Mossy Cove Trail featuring a small waterfall from May to October. For a longer day on the trail, trek Swamp Canyon – a four-mile loop coursing through Bryce Canyon.
Need to up the ante? Try the Riggs Spring Loop – nearly nine miles of trail surrounded by gorgeous forestland and originating at Rainbow Point. Horseback riding is yet another way to enjoy your time in Bryce Canyon – offered April through October.
Bryce Canyon National Park is stunning during the day…and the night. See for yourself at the Bryce Canyon Astronomy Festival happening in late June through early July. Spend each night at the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center's Trailer for stargazing until 12:30 a.m. Sign up for constellation tours given by Bryce Canyon's “Dark” Rangers, and don’t forget to take home the Astronomy Festival collector’s patch. Other activities inlcude workshops and astronomy classes, so get ready to impress your friends back home.
This Bryce Canyon National Park is also home to two Best Western hotels in Bryce Canyon City – the ideal place to rest up after a day of hiking and horseback riding, and a night of admiring Utah’s night sky.
